Inspiring many to work for peace and unity

"You tangibly express the hope for peace and unity in our world"
UNABLE TO SUBSCRIBE
I am truly inspired and uplifted by the Focolare and Living City magazine. You tangibly express the hope for peace and unity in our world that we have been given by Jesus Christ. My chaplain introduced me to you 4-5 years ago. Unfortunately my financial situation is uncertain right now and I am unable to afford to subscribe this year. My prayers are with you.

INTERRELIGIOUS DIALOGUE
In an academic lecture, “Mary and the Intellectual Life,” Fr. Jim Heft discusses the importance of Chiara Lubich’s work and the doors it has opened in interreligious dialogue. Fr. Heft, who is director of the Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies at the University of Southern California, says, “The response by members of other religions has been extraordinary.” He also briefly mentions the little cities and the Economy of Communion. The section ends with a well-expressed desire for “unity among charisms. It seems to me that the Focolare movement and the Marianist family have much in common and would benefit from closer ties.” (The article can be found in Origins in the chapter “Suggestions for Thinking About Mary Today” and was delivered at the University of Dayton in Ohio.)
